The International Market in Cesano Maderno: what you need to know

The International Market, organized by Fiva Confcommercio with the Municipality and Unione Confcommercio di Seveso, returned to Cesano Maderno and until Sunday 20 October will occupy the streets Cozzi, Cerati, Milan, Piazza Arese and Piazzetta della Peace. For three days the city turns into a great center of attraction, which in the past edition has come to attract around 50 thousand visitors.

A similar amount of people pouring into the city needs a traffic plan particularly structured, especially with regard to parking, which are indicated with appropriate signs along the main traffic arteries. The invitation for residents is to move on foot or by bicycle, for the others there are about a thousand parking spaces available as follows: in the market area of ​​Piazza Facchetti, in that parking lot next to the cemetery, in Via Quarto e lungo via Independence. Stalls also available in the station and in Piazza XXV Aprile, in Piazza Procaccini and in Via Federico Barbarossa.

In this new edition have been increased service areas, which will become three: one in piazza della Pace, one in via Ada Negri and one in vicolo Champagnat, with a total of nine chemical toilets available to users and visitors. Via Duca D'Aosta-Indipendenza will be reopened to traffic on the occasion of the Market: the two-way traffic will be restored along the road affected by the construction site that is redeveloping the entire area. At the same time, pavements on the north side of the construction site will be reopened to pedestrian transit.

"The International Market – explains Oltolini – is an expression of the open and international spirit of our city and of the liveliness of the initiatives concerning commerce. For visitors it is an opportunity for recreation and above all for culture, a way to get closer to products and specialties from countries that are also very distant. Lastly, the event is a showcase and an opportunity to promote the city and our artistic heritage, which can be admired by all during the weekend ». Also in this edition there are about 110 exhibitors coming to Cesano Maderno, coming from every corner of the globe.

The food specialties from Europe make up the lion's share, representing about 60% of the exhibitors present, then the Italian regional specialties and finally those of non-European operators (the furthest from the USA, Bangladesh, Peru, Senegal and Ecuador). As is now tradition, even at this 17th edition of the event the authorities will award the best stands this morning, Saturday 19 October in the late morning: the most beautiful of all, the most beautiful Italian stall and the most beautiful foreign stall.
