Elon Musk had communicated it, and the times were respected. Tesla has unveiled the new version of its photovoltaic roof, the Solar Roof V3, or more simply now Solar Glass. Delays in production and the need for a new version are due to two main factors: lowering costs and increasing durability. It seems that Tesla has managed to get both.

According to the company, the duration should now be 30 years, although photovoltaic tiles would continue to produce energy beyond this period, even if with less efficiency. The price has also decreased, and now Tesla proposes an average plant to 10 kW at around $ 34,000 (with American incentives).

News also on the production front, with the forecast in the coming months to be able to reach the volume of 1,000 solar roofs per week, at the Gigafactory 2 in Buffalo.

As already seen previously, the Solar Roof V3 should also be simpler to install, with the installation it would only require between 5 and 7 days. This would be a processing time decidedly less than the two weeks required to install the first roofs produced in reduced volumes. At the moment on the Italian Tesla website there is no information on the possibility of booking the new product, but only a generic pre-order with a deposit of 100 euros.
