Starting in the spring of 2020, RTC users will have access to an "integrated package". Concretely, the holders of a monthly pass of the RTC will be able to borrow 10 races Flex (self-service car) Communauto of 30 minutes and less. The additional cost will be $ 9.50 per month.
Also, 16 Communauto vehicles will be gradually available in eight local and regional Parc-O-Buses.
"We are very proud to have taken this step, which truly marks the first step in the development of integrated mobility in Quebec," said Rémy Normand, President of the RTC.
According to Benoit Robert, president and founder of Communauto, "for carsharing to have all its profits, it must be paired with a solidly established public transport offer".
Other measures include the fact that by the winter of 2020, Communauto data will be integrated into the real-time RTC Nomad application. The location of Communauto stations as well as those of FLEX cars can thus be found on a single application.
In addition, the hours of use of one of Communauto's subscription plans (the Duo Auto + Bus) will be extended at no additional cost to allow subscribers to keep the car at night (between 11 pm and 7 am).
In Quebec, Communauto's fleet includes 216 vehicles.
