The man who was shot in the last hours in Saint-Amable, on the South Shore of Montreal, is Sebastien Comtois, president, until recently, at least, of the Devils Ghosts, one of the main club-schools Hells Angels, learned Press from safe sources.
Comtois, 39, was reportedly shot in his residence on Rancourt Street, around 11 pm last night. He was transported to the hospital where he rests out of danger. Since the victim is linked to organized crime, the investigation, initiated by police officers from the Richelieu-Saint-Laurent Police Authority, was transferred to the Sûrete du Quebec.
Comtois has a criminal record with respect to assault with a weapon, fraud, obstruction, breaking and entering and impaired driving. Each time, his sentences were fines or reprieve.
In November 2016, he was arrested with other individuals in an operation to dismantle a drug trafficking network operating on the South Shore of Montreal, allegedly falling under the Hells Angels Chapter South.
Seventy policemen from the Monteregie Regional Mixed Squad (ERM), assisted by municipal police officers, had made seven arrests in residences in Saint-Amable, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Sainte-Julie and Longueuil. But Comtois benefited from a stay of proceedings in March 2018.
