It is the day after the collapse of the building on Via Pisani and with the light of day the scenery is disturbing. Yesterday, in Andria, a tragedy was touched. Fortunately, there were no deaths to cry: neither workers on the construction site (imagine if the collapse had occurred during the hours of full activity), nor even inhabitants of the collapsed building at number 26 of Via Gabriele Rossetti, already, because the building that collapsed has access from via Rossetti. On the side of Via Pisani, on the other hand, a renting that refers to a sort of mezzanine, fortunately uninhabited.

This morning on the spot, a crowd of curious and above all technicians of the Municipality and Commissioner Tufariello who followed the rescue operations: «From a practical point of view last night all the activities were started. The rescue machine started regularly. This morning we formalize the preventive technical ascertainment orders of damage in agreement with the technicians appointed by the ownership of the buildings adjacent to the construction site ". Technical assessment is essential to determine whether residents can return to their homes. At the moment only the owners of the two butchers located in Via Pisani and Via Rossetti have had access to the commercial activities.

The only one present in the building at the time of the collapse was an elderly lady of 91 years. Riccardina Register, a well-known person, since she was a "historic" organist of the church of Altomare (sister of Albo Taddeo whose first anniversary of her death was celebrated yesterday at the time of the collapse. Celebration to which the elderly lady did not have taken part in the impossibility to walk independently). Miss Riccardina helps with movements with a walker and at the time of the collapse, yesterday, she was joined by some State Police and Local Police officers who helped her down the stairs to leave the unsafe building. She was alone yesterday at home, on the first floor of the gutted house, whose living room is now exposed now to the vision of passers-by (while on the second floor there was the kitchen of her home); on the ground floor, however, lived a couple of young people who fortunately were not at home at the time of the collapse; to specify that this house fits with the building but is independent of it. They are houses from the 50s whose walls usually served as a "push", that is to say from a buttress with respect to the building that had remained standing and which, evidently, losing the bond would have given way.

He is fine in the meantime Emanuele Basile, the 41-year-old fireman from Matera who yesterday was hit by some rubble that collapsed suddenly, while the first surveys were being carried out. His report refers to two ribs and three arms of fractured vertebrae.

Once the bus stops from Via Pisani – Line 7 for Quarto di Palo, from Via Leoncavallo, turns into Viale Trentino, Via Montegrappa, Via Firenze, via Napoli and the station.

This morning the construction company will secure the perimeter area affected by the collapse in order to guarantee public safety. The entire yard is in the meantime subjected to seizure in the provision of the judiciary which will now have to ascertain any responsibility in the execution of the demolition works.
