According to the latest press rumors the twist could occur thanks to the Germans of Lufthansa, the same ones that a few weeks ago have already tried to enter the game with an offer on the former national airline.
Well now the giant could decide to return to the office with a new proposal with the objective of participating in the rescue of Alitalia perhaps undermining the Americans of Delta Air Lines.
Alitalia rescue: news from Lufthansa?
Last week the rescue of Alitalia was postponed (for the umpteenth time) to the November 21 next one. A date by which interested parties must submit their offers, finalized to the last detail.
At the center of the debate are the positions of Delta, Atlantia and Ferrovie dello Stato, which were unable to present a final proposal by October 15 last. It is precisely this consortium that must now work out a concrete plan, even if last-minute twists are not ruled out.
To report the latest rumors about the story was La Repubblica, which pointed out that these days it has also arrived in Rome Harry Hohmeister, member of the board of Lufthansa as well as head of the delegation for the tricolor dossier.
What is certain is that his name could also prove to be anything but a work visit, but according to rumors the Germans are preparing for the twist.
The aim could be to offer Delta on a silver platter well in excess of the 100 million bid. Someone even imagined a proposal for 150-200 million.
Once again, however, press speculations remained unchanged and no confirmation (or denial) came from interested parties. If there are any, the news on Alitalia's rescue will come perhaps in the coming days.
