The leader, one of the main whistle-blowers on the Ghosn case in 2018, has since been caught in his turn by accusations that he too would have received undue money, sources said.
"Although Nissan has found no evidence of Nada's inappropriate involvement in the internal misconduct investigation under former President Carlos Ghosn and others, the change is intended to avoid any undue suspicion and allow him to focus on important tasks for the company, such as upcoming legal actions, "Nissan said in a statement.
Hari Nada remains under the direct responsibility of acting Director General Yasuhiro Yamauchi. Nissan announced the day before that Makoto Uchida will succeed him next January, flanked by Ashwani Gupta as deputy chief executive, and Jun Seki as deputy chief executive officer.
