Nissan presented a very interesting electric car prototype during the Tokyo Motor Show: designed to approach the performance levels of sports cars, it has two electric motors, all-wheel drive and independent control of each wheel (technology AWC, or All-Wheel Control). The prototype for now is based on the Nissan Leaf e +, the "full electric" whose latest restyling arrived in Italy in early spring.

The prototype mounts one rear engine and one front engine (both EM57s seen on the most recent Leaf): the maximum combined power is 227 kW, while the maximum torque reaches 680 nm. Each wheel's independently controlled all-wheel drive, says Nissan, offers important advantages in car handling in all conditions of the land. Nissan also claims to have implemented all the chassis control technologies designed for the next generation of EVs, thus bringing benefits in terms of performance but also safety.

Brake management is also particularly sophisticated: there is a rear engine, it is possible to implement one regenerative braking also on the rear wheels, thus reducing the pitching and lowering of the nose – also to the benefit of the comfort of the passengers who will suffer less the "rocking chair" effect in the event of sudden braking. Furthermore, the independent braking control allows the system to apply the ideal level of braking force on each wheel, depending on the characteristics of the curve, speed and other parameters.

Despite the prototype stage, Nissan also wanted to take special care of the external appearance of the vehicle, with a custom-designed bodywork sports alloy wheels (very JDM style, it must be said) and pronounced wheel arches. The cabin also includes an instrument panel with a large 12.3 "display in centralized position, with real-time information on innovative car technologies.

We leave you the official car video below, reloaded on YouTube for greater ease of use. Before you ask, it is not you: it is the original that is lacking in audio in many segments.
