NHL: the Penguins served a thaw in the Jets by the mark of 7 to 2

            <p>WINNIPEG - Zach Aston-Reese moved the ropes twice and collected an assist and the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Winnipeg Jets 7-2 on Sunday night.

Sam Lafferty and Jake Guentzel also hit the target twice for the Penguins (4-2-0), while Dominik Simon also blacked the score sheet.

Tristan Jarry made 27 saves in a win.

Mathieu Perreault and Mark Scheifele responded on the Jets' side (4-3-0), while Laurent Brossoit blocked 21 shots.

Both teams played a second game in as many nights and fatigue was felt from the first moments of the game.

Meier and Hertl finally fly
Summary

Tomas Hertl had one goal and one assist to help the San Jose Sharks beat the Calgary Flames 3-1.

Timo Meier and Kevin Labanc also moved the strings on the side of the Sharks, who won a second game in a row after starting the season with three losses in a row. Logan Couture earned two assists, while Patrick Marleau helped out on the Sharks' home after signing a new contract with his former team.

Martin Jones stopped 32 shots in the win.

Elias Lindholm was the Flames' only scorer, losing two straight games and three of their last four. Cam Talbot made 17 saves in his debut in front of the Flames cage.
