New severe weather deterioration, here's what regions

Here we are: the North Atlantic depression broke the delay by aiming decisively at the heart of the Mediterranean. The weather conditions, as expected, worsened during the night in Sardinia where locally intense storms fell. Then it started to rain on the Northwest, actually locally since last night.

What to expect in the next few hours? From the satellite image we can see how the entry of fresh air at high altitude has triggered instability. The storm front it is going up the Tyrrhenian Sea and is aiming decisively at the eastern sectors of Liguria and Tuscany. These are thunderstorms which, by virtue of the warm Tyrrhenian waters and the Ligurian Sea, could regenerate themselves on the spot.

It means, very trivially, that intense and persistent rain could fall. Unfortunately in such situations the risk of hydrogeological criticality increases and in fact we invite you to consult the site of the National Civil Protection to have all the info on the warnings in progress.

High-resolution mathematical models, among other things, confirm that in the aforementioned areas storms may occur. Attention also to southern Piedmont, where equally there will be no occasion for precipitations of a certain violence. Let us remember that we are talking about regions, Piedmont and Liguria, where floods have recently occurred and where soils and waterways are saturated by past rains.

What cannot be seen from the attached image is the next evolution. The lunge, once entered with enthusiasm in the Mediterranean, will isolate itself from the primary Atlantic circulation and will begin the isolation of a secondary cyclonic vortex. Whirl that, by now there are no more doubts, will go to position itself between Sicily and Sardinia where it will cause severe bad weather. A situation that, we have been repeating for days, will have to be followed and constantly monitored in order to avoid being caught unprepared.
