The man had tried to take refuge in a camp of the Rom community, in Bouguenais. The gendarmes got their hands on fourteen cans of diesel.
On the night of Wednesday 9 to Thursday, October 10, around 2:30, a team of Psig Rezé (Platoon surveillance and intervention) decides to proceed to control a suspect vehicle. But the driver, at the sight of the gendarmes, fled. He takes refuge in a camp of the Roma community, in La Neustrie, in the commune of Bouguenais.
In the vehicle, the police discovered fourteen cans of diesel, representing a total of 420 liters. A match is immediately made with a theft committed the same night, in a company based in Bouguenais. The 26-year-old Romanian driver, who is homeless and occasionally resident in La Neustrie, was taken into custody.
The suspect is the subject of a court summons for May 28, 2020, and in parallel with an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) within 30 days.
