The Spanish low-cost airline will offer a Nantes-Nice and a Nantes-Varna (Bulgaria) during the summer of 2020.
Everything is fine for Volotea. Since the beginning of 2019, the Spanish low-cost airline has transported 845,000 passengers (including 375,000 between June and August) from Nantes, 14% more than the same period last year. At this rate, the milestone of one million passengers over one year should be crossed in December.
Four aircraft based in Nantes
Established in Nantes Atlantique since 2012, Volotea is the first airline of the airport by the number of destinations served (34 of which 14 exclusively) and 1.2 million seats offered over the year.
Part of nothing seven years ago, the company founded and led by Carlos Muñoz, former boss of Vueling Airlines, has transported more than 25 million passengers since its inception. It was among the first low-cost to set up in Nantes, quickly became its main base. She parked four Airbus A319s and 160 personnel permanently.
Two new lines in 2020
Continuing its momentum, Volotea will open two new lines from Nantes Atlantique next summer: a Nantes-Nice from April with two flights per week, or more than 24,000 seats, and a Nantes-Varna (Bulgaria) from April to September, with one flight per week, or 7,500 seats.
Tickets for 9 euros are on sale until 9 October at the end of the day, on these two destinations.
