Nutanix announced new automation features for the private cloud, in collaboration with ServiceNow. Businesses can now get direct notification in ServiceNow of critical incidents related to Nutanix's hyperconverged infrastructure. The integration of the latter with ServiceNow's IT Operation Management solutions will also enable the automatic discovery of HCI Nutanix environments. But also give access to self-service features offered by Nutanix to automate critical workloads.

Nutanix Calm plug-in and automatic visualization of environments

These announcements, made at the Next European conference of the hyper convergence specialist, promise IT teams spend less time resolving incidents. Integration with ServiceNow automatically displays Nutanix private cloud environments with ServiceNow ITOM Discovery. In addition, the X-Play automation engine of the Prism Pro management software adds a new command that leverages ServiceNow's ITSM service to alert IT managers of incidents and alerts in their private cloud environment. . These automation capabilities are complemented by the introduction of the Nutanix Calm ServiceNow Store as a plug-in. Calm is a multi-cloud application management framework that enables automation, orchestration and lifecycle management. With this plug-in, ServiceNow users can quickly size, manage, and scale applications through blueprints offered by the framework, which can be accessed through the ServiceNow Service Catalog.

HPE GreenLake for Nutanix and HPE ProLiant DX

Nutanix also took advantage of its conference to unveil the release of the offer resulting from its merger with HPE announced this spring. After a tense period following HPE's takeover of Nutanix's direct competitor, Simplivity, the two companies buried the hatchet in a joint battle with Dell-VMware duo. A strategy that is reflected today in the announcement of the general availability of HPE GreenLake for Nutanix and HPE ProLiant DX solutions.

HPE GreenLake for Nutanix is based on HPE ProLiant DX appliances (based on HPE ProLiant and HPE Apollo servers) and ships with Enterprise Cloud OS and Nutanix AHV hypervisor. In this way, businesses can benefit from a private cloud managed entirely by HPE, in as-a-Service mode. A consumer-use model for hybrid cloud, also proposed by Dell for VxRail.
