"Tomorrow (Saturday NDLR) there are teams of investigators of the national service of the fugitives research and judicial police of Nantes who will go to Scotland," said the prosecutor to AFP. "So they will do checks in Scotland with the person who was arrested at Glasgow Airport to ensure that it is Mr. Dupont de Ligonnès," he added.

"So it is appropriate while waiting for these checks to be cautious," warned Mr. Sennès.

The man was arrested "at the end of the afternoon" at Glasgow airport. He was confused by his fingerprints.

"There is a suspicion on the fingerprints but it is under verification, being confirmed, and that is why the investigators are leaving tomorrow in Scotland," added the prosecutor.

According to the Scottish police, his fingerprints correspond to those of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, now 58 years old.

Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès was last seen on April 15, 2011, leaving on foot a hotel in Roquebrune-sur-Argens in the Var.

Six days later, the bodies of his wife and four children were discovered, buried under the roof of the family home, wrapped in sheets and lime.

A testimony sows doubt

A neighbor of the searched home gives the identity of the suspect in question by assuring that he could not be Xavier Dupont de Liognnes and that the police were doing "A monstrous ball"
"I've known him for thirty years, that guy was a friend. I was at his wedding in Scotland (…) It has nothing to do! ".

"On Friday morning he flew, as he usually does. He was returning to Scotland, his wife was waiting for him in Glasgow. We had her earlier on the phone, and she said 'here they are, they stopped him, I have no more news'. She is scared. It has nothing to do! Even if he took X years more, he has nothing to do with this face! It's a man who is tall, round face, nothing to do! He told Europe 1.

According to other neighbors, the arrested man is said to be 70 years old, and not 59 like Dupont de Ligonnes.

"Identification checks" in progress

"Verifications on the identification" of a man arrested on Friday reported as possibly Xavier Dupont Ligonnès, are on Saturday, told AFP the prosecutor of the Republic of Nantes Pierre Sennès.

"The investigators are moving to Scotland to make checks on identification, the investigating judge is waiting for the result of this investigation," said Sennès, whose prosecutor is in charge of this investigation since the leak of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès and the discovery of the bodies of his wife and four children in their house in Nantes in 2011.

Passport

According to Morandini, the arrested man's passport would be his and not stolen.

DNA test

According to BFMTV, the results of the DNA tests have fallen. The man arrested last night in Glasgow is not Xavier Dupont Ligonnès, according to them.
