LAGARDERE: close to 84 million euros Amber Capital

Lagardre has decided to take legal action against Amber Capital, which became a shareholder in 2016. The French group criticizes the activist fund for "a campaign of destabilization characterized by a multitude of abuses of minorities, of denigration and harassment". In compensation for losses caused by the latter, Lagardre claims nearly 84 million Amber Capital. It is in a report published Thursday evening, that the Lagardre group indicates to face "a virulent aggression illustrated by systematic abuse of Amber Capital of its shareholder rights".

Lagardre also cites "the introduction of several misdemeanor judicial procedures", but also "the orchestration of a recurrent denigration campaign, in particular through the press, targeting the group, its sponsored grants and its supervisory board".

Last May, the Amber fund declared its concerns about the governance and strategy of the company in a letter, made public the day before the General Assembly.

According to Lagardre, "the persistence of the aggression and the methods implemented by Amber Capital have affected Lagardre SCA's ability to attract investors to the market and shareholders, with the result that its share price has fallen significantly".

At the Paris Stock Exchange, the title is well oriented this weekend. He earns 1.05% 20.18 euros.
