It burns itself on the banks of the Dora: 42-year-old in a private prognosis

His wife had reported his disappearance in the morning and, following a telephone contact in which he announced his willingness to take his own life, law enforcement and fire brigade were able to locate him. The man, a 42-year-old resident in the Valley, was on the banks of the Dora, on the slopes of the green area of ​​Gressan, under the highway overpass. At the beginning of the afternoon, despite the fact that he had begun to talk to the operators of the emergency services who intervened massively, after having sprinkled the garment with flammable liquid kept in a small tank it set on fire.

At that moment, the closest physically he was the Captain of the Carabinieri Aosta company, the captain Danilo D’Angelo, who had undertaken the negotiation, as expected in such circumstances. He immediately launched himself on the man, to stifle the flames, an attempt that went well with the help of the firefighters. The 42-year-old was therefore transferred, urgently, from 118 to the "Parini" hospital: from the first reports, the burn is significant and, for him, the doctors have reserved the prognosis, arranging the transfer of the patient to the Turin CTO after a brief hospitalization.

In contact with man, burns also for the officer of the weapon, for which visits to the emergency room are still ongoing. Also present were police and financial police, in application of the protocol for the management of these situations (taken last time last August for a young man who had threatened, for six long hours, to launch himself from the viaduct of Saumont). It seems that the 42-year-old who was arrested today had already expressed suicidal intent on other occasions in recent days.
