Honda pushes for electrification in Europe with and: Technology, a logo that embodies the electrical strategy and identifies battery models in the world of cars and motorcycles. For the four wheels are provided six new models by 2022, starting right from the hybrid Jazz announced today in Tokyo and Honda and seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in final version.
The 2022 goal shortens the timeframe compared to the previous 2025 target and serves the manufacturer to align the European range with the emission limits set for the Old Continent. Among the changes planned within the next 36 months there will be the second electric battery car and the extension to the whole range of the hybrid system and: HEV.
NOT JUST A CAR
Services are very important for electric mobility. For this, Honda announces its collaboration with Vattenfall for the electricity supply with a contract, the first in the world they say, that is born for meet the needs of electric car owners.
We will have to wait to find out the details but, from the letter of intent, we talk about a formula, open to any brand of electric cars and with tariffs that promote the use of electricity from renewable sources. The declared flexibility regards the time bands so as to optimize the recharge in the most convenient ones.
RECHARGING WITH UBITRICITY AND THE PORTABLE COUNTER
The service, which will include the installation of wallbox Honda Power Charger, will be proposed in Germany and the United Kingdom already in the course of 2020, then embracing the other European countries with an eye on the Vehicle to grid (V2G) as the regulations will allow their implementation.
The Honda wallbox can be installed on the wall or on a pedestal and allows recharging a 7.4 kW (single-phase) or 22 kW (three-phase), the latter case which sees the full charge of Honda and in just over 4 hours at 32 A. Ubitricity, the city's recharging network that in London can count on 1,700 public columns, will leave the walls.

The novelty of Ubitricity consists in linking users to SmartCable, a charging cable with integrated SIM that actually creates a portable counter with which a contract is associated. The advantages are those of automatic authentication at any point of recharge with precise tracking of the kWh supplied and universal compatibility with any column (in that case traditional billing will be applied). To keep track of consumption, theapp for Android and iOS.
Moving authentication and meter on the cable has allowed Ubitricity to have simpler columns and reduced costs, making it easier to integrate the charging station into light poles. SmartCable is available in the following versions:
- single phase 20 A (4.6 kW)
- single phase 32 A (7.4 kW)
- three-phase 20 A (13.8 kW)
