PHILLIP ISLAND – Marc Marquez wins the Australian Grand Prix of MotoGp at the end of a spectacular dry race that after a very frenetic start saw the Spanish Honda rider trigger a duel with Maverick Vinales, who kept the lead until the last lap, the moment in which the 1993 class champion overtakes. In an attempt to recover the first position the Yamaha driver ends up knocking out a whole weekend, so a super second place for Cal Crutchlow arrives. Third was host Jack Miller, while Valentino Rossi is only eighth after competing in a high and low race with the extraordinary start that led him to the lead of the race.

The story of the race

Start of the spectacular race with the accident between Petrucci and Quartararo that puts both offside due to an involuntary collision between the two, meanwhile leading the race is a great brawl with Valentino Rossi who with a great start takes the lead and resists for a few back. Overtaking and counterstrokes out front, in the long run the best driver of this weekend comes out, namely Vinales, and the best of the entire season Marc Marquez. The two give sight to a close duel, with the Honda driver remaining constantly behind and placing the overtaking only on the last lap. The Spaniard from Yamaha would like to recover his position but falls and throws to the winds what was still a great second place: so Cal Crutchlow and the host Jack Miller rise to the podium, fourth a great Pecco Bagnaia with Iannone sixth and Dovizioso seventh.
