– 3 individual time trials (for a total of 58.8 km), 6 stages of low difficulty suitable for sprinters, 7 of medium difficulty and 5 of high difficulty will characterize the course of the 103rd edition of the Tour of Italy. There will be 7 uphill arrivals, including the initial time trial in Budapest.
The 103rd Giro d'Italia was presented yesterday, 21 stages between Hungary and Italy (from 9 to 31 May) to crown the winner and show the World many UNESCO World Heritage sites and many other beauties of the territory Italian, both at the start and at the end of the stage and along the route.
From Budapest with its Castle district up to Milan with Leonardo's Last Supper passing through the second Hungarian stop with Pannonhalma Abbey and then to Sicily (with the Cathedral of Monreale, the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and Etna ); Puglia with the Monte Sant'Angelo and the Umbra Forest; Emilia Romagna where the race will touch Ravenna; Veneto with the site of Arqua Petrarca and the Hills of Prosecco Superiore and finally with the uniqueness of the Dolomites that since 2009 have been a World Heritage Site and that will affect the race through three regions (Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino Alto Adige) .
Also this year the pink caravan will pass to Pesaro. The stage 11, Wednesday 20 May, runs from the Marche to Emilia Romagna and will end at Porto Sant’Elpidio in Rimini. A fairly flat and coastal stage in the first part.
In Pesaro, cyclists will climb Mount San Bartolo to reach the moderately undulating portion around Rimini before arrival, which should almost certainly be a group sprint.
