After Denmark, the turn of the Eire to dry in Tbilisi. Like the Danes, the Irish were held in check by Georgia (0-0) to the delight of Switzerland.
Victorious 2-0 in Tbilisi last March, Switzerland has two points more than its two rivals before starting the iron in Copenhagen this Saturday and Tuesday in Geneva in front of Ireland. But this enviable situation can however deteriorate in case of defeat in front of Denmark this Saturday and Tuesday in Geneva against the Eire.
In Tbilisi, the Irish had to wait until the 95th minute and a header from Shane Duffy to alert goalkeeper Giorgi Loria. Dominated most often, they delivered a very poor meeting. This draw does not harm them in any way.
Mike McCarthy was probably too late before launching in the battle the neophyte Aaron Connolly (19), author of a double last Saturday with Brighton against Tottenham. Introduced to the 79th, the teenager managed a nice breakthrough on the left flank but without being able to frame his shot on one of the few attacks that has unbalanced the opposing defense.
