With Fosfo, Fortuneo offers full and free access to all international transactions. A comparison was needed with rivals like Ultim, Max, N26 and Revolut.

As its name suggests, Fortuneo's new bank card, Fosfo, is phosphorescent. But not only. It is especially the first card of the establishment completely free to the international and without barrier to the entry. In concrete terms, it is useless to have to justify a minimum amount of salary or savings held in the establishment to open a Fosfo account. A first for the bank that previously required to earn at least 1200 net euros per month or to have saved 5,000 euros to access its entry-level card.

As for transactions carried out abroad, in euros as in foreign currency, they do not undergo strictly any expenses. Thus, payments and withdrawals at ATMs made in France as in the United States or Japan cost nothing. Only the interbank exchange rate is applied for foreign currency transactions.

Fosfo joins the very rare free international banking offers, accessible to all and without constraint. A trend driven by the Nobanques N26 and Revolut, and followed by a handful of large establishments. On the online banking side, only Boursorama, a subsidiary of Société Générale, risked it with its Ultim offer. And side large networks, only Crédit Mutuel Arkea (Crédit Mutuel of Brittany, South-West and Massif Central), ventured there by moving masked with the Max Card.

Looking more closely at these 5 international offers, it is clear that the neoBanks have distanced themselves on the international, as detailed in our table (below). If currency payments are free at N26, the bank retains 1.7% of the amount of all foreign currency withdrawals. And bill 2 euros each withdrawal in euros beyond 5 free per month. Same thing at Revolut where payments remain exempt from any billing. But not ATM withdrawals in euros and foreign currencies: they are free up to € 200 and then charged for 2% of the amount.

The rest of the price lists contain other small differences to study well before making your choice. For example, the two online banks Fortuneo and Boursorama require that an initial payment of several hundred euros be made to open the account. Neobanks, they, are content with a dozen euros while Max, who presents as a aggregator of bank accounts with a card, requires nothing.

We can
also note the compatibility of each bank with the new services
mobile payment. Here, Fortuneo and the Max card of his parent company appear
like the richest do the matter since alongside Apple Pay, Google Pay
and Samsung Pay, it also offers contactless payment with watches
connected Fitbit and Garmin.
