According to the rescue, an 89-year-old woman died in Calimesa, about 100 kilometers east of Los Angeles, when a fire swept through the mobile home park where she resided. The fire was triggered by the driver of a dumpster whose load had caught fire and which precipitated it on the edge of the road, igniting brush.
A man in his fifties died of a heart attack while trying to save his house from another fire, dubbed Saddleridge Fire, who said Thursday night about twenty kilometers north of Los Angeles.
Fueled by warm, dry winds characteristic of this season, the blaze was around 300 hectares an hour, according to LAFD Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas.
By midday, the fire had already covered some 3000 hectares of scrub and hills. The order to evacuate was given to more than 100,000 people whose homes could be affected. At least 25 buildings were destroyed or damaged, according to the latest firefighters report.
"It's a very dynamic fire. Do not wait to leave, "said Ralph Terrazas. A thousand firefighters are deployed to fight the fire, which was limited to 13% in the early afternoon and has led to the closure of several highways, shops and schools.

In the north of the state, the US operator PG & E had decided Wednesday to prevent power cuts due to weather forecasts conducive to forest fires. Hundreds of thousands of customers, some at the gateway to San Francisco and Silicon Valley, have been deprived of power. The operator has announced that it has restored electricity for half of the affected customers, but more than 300,000 people remained affected by these cuts on Friday morning.
