Electric car, in Trentino it pays more: incentives up to 12 thousand euros – Trento

Trento. Trentino is the area where it is best to buy an electric or hybrid petrol-electric car with plug-ins. Summing up the incentives of the Province with the national ones, we arrive at a total contribution of 12 thousand euros for the less polluting cars and drops to 4 thousand euros for the hybrids. If we consider then that the Province of Trento, with the law of 2011, extended the exemption period from the payment of the car tax for hybrid vehicles to five years, while the national law provides for the free stamp for 5 years for electric cars, it comes to say that the cost of an electric or hybrid car is slightly higher than a petrol or diesel one. In particular, at the national level up to 6 thousand euros are recognized for the purchase of cars that emit between 0 and 20 g / km of CO2 and that cost less than 61 thousand euros in the list: they are all battery-powered. The area for provincial incentives is wider. The most generous of 6 thousand euros is foreseen for first registration or new electric vehicles. Then there are 4 thousand euros for hybrid plug-i cars of first registration or new. Of these, 2 thousand euros are made up of a discount on the list price charged by retailers affiliated with the Province. Finally there is a contribution of 1,500 euros for first registration or new electric motorcycles. At the moment the national and local incentives can be added together, but it is not yet known what choices the government will make with the financial one, so who has in mind to make the purchase is good that you hurry.

According to the Smart mobility report of the Energy & Strategy group of the Polytechnic of Milan in Trento in just one year the higher purchase cost of an electric or hybrid car is recovered, while in the rest of Italy it takes five years. Also according to the calculations of the research center of the Polytechnic, in ten years of life of an electric or hybrid car, it is possible to save 12 thousand euros compared to a traditional car. Yet the sale of electric or hybrid cars still does not take off. According to the data of the Apiae, the agency of the Province for the interventions in delegated economy to grant the contributions, in the first semester of this year 100 incentives were obtained from the citizens of Trentino for the purchase of electric cars, while in all 2018 had been 70. There would also be a percentage increase, but the numbers in absolute terms are still too low. The Province in 2017 with the electric mobility plan had allocated 20 million in 5 years to incentivize the use of electric cars. Now the environmental councilor Mario Tonina thinks about increasing this sum: «We are doing the calculations and we plan to put more resources on this chapter with the end-of-year financial budget. The goal is too important ".
