Thea day promises to be crucial, even historic, Saturday in the British parliament. The members of parliament meet in the morning at the Palace of Westminster to debate and then decide on the new agreement reached by the negotiators of the government of Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the European Commission in view of Brexit. The outcome of the vote is uncertain to say the least, and amendment proposals could still play the spoilsport.
The Heads of State and Government of the other 27 countries of the European Union have already decided on Thursday, when they were gathered in Brussels: for them, it is "yes", the divorce between the United Kingdom and the EU can be done on October 31, based on this hard-negotiated text.
To succeed on the first try, however, it remains to Johnson to get the green light of a majority of the British deputies of the House of Commons, the lower house of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
And that's where it could get stuck.
