The dilemma is always the same, is it better to buy a house or 'settle for rent? An answer tries to give it a research conducted by the Tecnocasa Group Studies office that examines the under-44s. In the first half of 2019, 71.5% of those under 44 bought a house and 28.5% went into rent. The percentage drops in the big cities where the buyer is 67.7%.

Compared to 5 years, the percentage of those who have purchased is increasing, a figure compatible with what has been the trend in the real estate market over this period, which has seen a 10% decrease in prices and increasingly cheaper mortgages. The fall in prices, the experts stress, also justifies another result that changes 5 years later: the percentage of those who have bought medium-large cuts such as three-room and four-room apartments has grown, and independent and semi-independent solutions to the detriment of smaller cuts . The reason for the purchase that remains the search for the main house has not changed much.

The lease as a housing choice sees a significant increase in the last 5 years going from 52.3% in 2014 to 67.3% in 2019. In addition to those who can not buy the house and have no access to credit on this result also affects the will to rent as a new way to live the house. Further analyzing the rental market, it emerges that 67.3% opted for this solution as a housing choice, 29.1% for work issues and 3.6% for study reasons.
