Airbus shuttle: Toulouse – Hamburg for Volotea

The airline company low cost Volotea going for five years connecting Toulouse at Hamburg on behalf of Airbus, which manages its two main production sites there.

After Air Corsica between Toulouse, Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, it is the turn of the Spanish specialist of cheap flight to be awarded a Airbus shuttle : from 4 November 2019 and for five years, it will connect two of the main sites of the European aircraft manufacturer with two daily flights from Monday to Friday between Toulouse-Blagnac and the airport Hamburg-Finkenwerder, operated in Airbus A319 on this line specifically adapted to the needs of Airbus employees. Two dedicated aircraft will be equipped with "different seating configuration and customized catering service".

A new based in Hamburg will be opened by Volotea, in order to meet this contract, aircrew positions and recruitment sessions are currently offered in Germany on the Volotea recruitment sessions website. Thanks to these operations, ten new jobs will be created in Hamburg by Volotea. A selection process was opened for German cabin crew candidates holding a cabin crew attestation on the site.

Volotea and Airbus will also intensify their collaboration about "pilot training, fuel reduction initiatives, aircraft configuration, Skywise the data platform for the aviation industry, and many more," according to his release.

TheAirbus A319 156 seats is the model chosen by Volotea for its growth plan, gradually replacing its Boeing 717 125 seats. Six A319s were added to the company's fleet in 2019 for a total of 19, with four more expected. In total, Volotea's fleet consists of of 36 aircraft operating 319 lines between more than 80 cities. Thanks to these additions, Volotea is maintaining the transformation of its fleet to become a 100% Airbus airline by 2022.
