After Lubrizol, the DGCCRF alert on an asbestos scam
October 12 2:32 p.m. 2019 Print this article

The fire of the Lubrizol factory seems to have inspired some bad spirits in Normandy. In a statement dated October 9, the crackdown on fraud warns against "canvassing scams at home for an asbestos diagnosis ".

"Mischievous people claiming services from the state solicit private individuals at home to offer them a diagnosis of asbestos or air quality analysis", says the communique of the DGCCRF which specifies that these steps are naturally fraudulent. "Vendors can make believe that it is mandatory to perform these analyzes or diagnoses, for example to benefit from insurance."

The repression of fraud calls for the "vigilance", "Even if the touts claim to public bodies or public services (…) even if they say mandated by a Prefecture or an administration".
