A story so crazy and disturbing that it seems incredible. In the United States, the Barnett, a (separated) couple accused of criminal negligence for abandoning their adopted daughter, ensure that their "child" was actually … only an adult sociopath and dwarfed.

If justice is seized today of the case, it goes back to 2008, when the Barnetts brought from Ukraine this girl whose birth certificate mentioned the name of Natalia and the age of 6 years. Two years later, the happy couple adopted the child.

But, according to the parents, Natalia would have begun to terrorize them: the "little girl" would have tried to push her mother against an electric fence, poured bleach in their coffee, threatened to stab them. Above all, the Barnett would have discovered that the girl was older than the marital status indicated.

"Natalia was a woman: she had menstrual periods and adult teeth, she never grew up, even children with dwarfism continue to grow," the mother told the Daily Mail.

Dental examinations finally establish that the girl is older than what she claims and the couple obtains in 2012 that the civil status now mentions the age of 22 years (the legal majority on the other side of the Atlantic).

In 2013, they rented a property for Natalia in southern Louisiana and moved to Canada. An approach that, combined with the change of civil status, now earns them to be sued in the United States. The couple was scheduled to appear on Tuesday.
