Ecogas went to clarify, before the queries received through the customer service channels regarding the existence of alleged “duplicate invoices”, which, by resolution 223/2019 of the Enargas (National Gas Regulatory Entity), as of June 1, the distribution company issues monthly invoices to all its residential customers. This billing scheme implies that, for the same period of consumption, each client will receive two service settlements.

By case, for the period of consumption 03/2019, each user is receiving two settlements with the following detail:

-Liquidation 1 of 2: 50% of the fixed charge + 50% consumption in cubic meters + corresponding taxes

-Liquidation 2 of 2: 50% of the fixed charge + 50% consumption in cubic meters + corresponding taxes

The settlements, explained from Ecogas, will have similar values, since the same amount of m3 and half of the fixed charge will be billed in each of them, although the calculation of taxes will impact differently generating some difference in the final amounts of each of them.

The monthly billing scheme does not represent for the users any additional cost, nor growth of the fixed charge or other components, since these will be charged in equal parts in each of the invoices. Unlike the previous invoice, which was a bimonthly invoice with two maturities, each monthly invoice will have a single due date.

How does the monthly billing scheme provided by Enargas work?

How to identify the period of consumption and the settlement number on invoices?

In the invoice that users receive, below the account data, you will find the detail of the corresponding consumption and settlement period, according to what is shown in the following scheme (and that you can find in a complete and detailed way in the Ecogas website):

Additionally, from the company they informed that they have incorporated a legend at the bottom of the invoice where it is reported that it is the monthly invoice, in order to improve the visibility of this significant change in the billing mechanism.
