What happened to the Peugeot e-LEGEND, the car that everyone was talking about?

About a year ago, Peugeot revolutionized the automobile world, within the framework of the Paris Motor Show. There, he showed the e-LEGEND, a new prototype electric car, equipped with the latest autonomous driving technology, but with a clear vintage design.

In fact, there were many who, instantly, remembered a classic such as the Peugeot 504 Coupé, an attractive model, the work of the Pininfarina studio, which came to light in 1969.

The public's reaction to the novelty did not wait and, quickly, voices began to emerge calling for the serial production of the e-LEGEND. Even, a collection of signatures was launched on Change.org, which currently has more than 60,000 supports. But, unfortunately, manufacturing it did not fit into the brand's plans …

The jug of cold water arrived in February of the same year, when Jean-Philippe Imparato, CEO of the French firm, said in an interview that its production was not planned, under any circumstances.

According to the manager, building this attractive model "would cost 250 million euros and we cannot allocate 250 million euros to that segment right now."

What is the problem? That previously, Imparato himself said that he would love the car to reach the production line, through its social networks.

The last time we heard about him, it was in May of this year, during the last Elegance Contest of Villa d'Este, where even, the occasional lucky person had the opportunity to drive it.

Basically, the concept continued to show the same characteristics of the model that was presented in Paris, among which the electric propulsion system, which announced 456 HP of power, supported by a battery of 100 kWh capacity and a total traction system.

Everything, to offer a maximum autonomy of about 600 kilometers and an induction recharge system, as well as a fast refueling function, which allowed to add about 500 kilometers, in just 25 minutes.

And the benefits? Well, they were not bad, according to its electrical nature, since it approved a maximum speed of 220 km / h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 in less than 4.0 seconds.

On his current whereabouts, we imagine that he will be resting at the Musée de l'Aventure Peugeot, in Sochaux (France), although his activity at events and exhibitions will be, without a doubt, frantic.
