VIDEO. Forbidden in India, restricted to the United States … vaping is not approved everywhere

In India, vaping is now banned. The production, import and export, sale or distribution of electronic cigarettes are prohibited. Even more radical: anyone who ventures into the territory risks one year in prison since September 2019.

In the United States also, the electronic cigarette is not unanimous. In September 2019, the state of New York and Michigan drastically restricted the sale of e-liquids. "We will ban all flavors except tobacco and mentholNew York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the other flavors would be, according to him, "very attractive to young people". 40% of students in New York City are graduating from e-cigarettes and the use of e-cigarettes among youth has increased by 9% in one year.

In Thailand, vaping is punishable by 10 years in prison. Since 2014, the government has banned the use and sale of electronic cigarettes. The reason is the lack of a long-term, in-depth study on health and the risk represented for young people.

In Norway, an authorization is necessary. Considered a medicine, as well as other ways of weaning, vaping is only allowed on presentation of a prescription or a medical certificate. In addition, only electronic cigarettes manufactured in the European Union are allowed.

In France, it is forbidden to vapote in schools, on public transport or at work. But, unless rules or municipal bylaw, vape in bars, restaurants or stadiums is allowed. In the case of a ban, it must be clearly marked. Vapoter in a forbidden place is liable to 35 euros fine.
