USA: woman stuck in the aircraft's toilet causes flight to be diverted

This is the second incident of this kind in a week. A flight from Washington DC to San Francisco was diverted to Denver International Airport for an unusual reason.

The reason ? A woman was trapped in the aircraft restroom for about an hour.

According to one of the passengers on the flight interviewed by CBS, the pilot allegedly made the following statement via the aircraft's loudspeaker: "In case you have not heard the rumor, we are going to land in Denver because someone one would have locked himself in the toilet. "And of course, we're not going to have her stay in the bathroom until San Francisco," he added later.

Once the flight landed in Denver, the firefighters entered the aircraft to get the woman out of the closets. According to the passenger of the plane, after her delivery, the prisoner of the toilet was unharmed but seemed puzzled to be at the origin of the deviation of the flight. The plane was finally able to take off again some time after the incident.

The airline, United Airlines, issued a statement on Wednesday night explaining that the toilet door opening system did not work when the woman was inside. "We apologize to all the customers on board and the customer who was in the toilet," said the company.
