The Secretary of Foreign Relations (SRE) noted that the Agreement between Mexico, U.S Y Canada (T-MEC) would be ratified in the United States and Canada at the beginning of November.
Reported that the undersecretary for North America, Jesus Seade Kuri, met in Los Angeles, California, U.S, with representatives of companies in the automotive, electronic, aeronautical, retail (retail or retail), financial and chambers of commerce.
The purpose of the meeting was to promote opportunities for investment and trade of the Agreement between Mexico, U.S Y Canada (T-MEC), which is expected to ratify in the last two countries "towards the first days of November this year," said the Mexican Foreign Ministry.
The SRE stressed that California plays a key role in the ratification process of the T-MEC, "and that it concentrates an overwhelming Democratic presence."
The agency explained that Seade Kuri was in Los Angeles, California, because through the Undersecretariat for North America the commission was installed Mexico-Los Angeles (Mexla).
He said that this subnational foreign policy initiative was promoted by the Pacific Council of International Policy and the Mexican Council of International Affairs (Comexi)
He explained that the citizens of both countries who share a deep commitment to their vision and goals will lead the Mexla.
In this regard, the undersecretary for North America, Jesus Seade Kuri, stated that the relationship Mexico-Los Angeles is deep, solid and mutually beneficial.
"Now Mexla will help make it even more robust," he said at the installation ceremony in the city of Los Angeles.
The committee will comprise 30 prominent participants, 15 for each country, representing key sectors that unite and benefit Mexico and southern California; These members will function for renewable periods of two years.
Seade Kuri, on the Mexican side, and the mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcettion the side of U.S, will be honorary co-chairs of the Mexla.
"We know that we have to combat all forms of intolerance and xenophobia, and the way to do it is to know each other better; building new bridges of collaboration and understanding, to have a closer and deeper relationship, that is what Mexla will do, a pioneering initiative created to further strengthen ties between Mexico and Los Angeles, "said Jesus Seade.
