One of the advantages of digital commerce is to reduce or eliminate the restriction of space and time when buying or renting a good or service. That is, it is not necessary to go to a specific site and within a certain time to acquire what we want. A new TV on a Sunday at three in the morning? Of course. It is possible via internet.

But there are still few renting companies or dealers that allow you to make a purchase or formalize a renting entirely online. In fact, except for Tesla, no manufacturer offered the possibility of acquiring its products digitally until now. Fiat joins this trend and in Spain directly markets its products on the internet through a fully digitalized e-commerce process.

Depending on the brand, renting can be done in three steps and completely online. In the first step it is the introduction of data by the customer, in addition to selecting the car that you like. The second step consists in the approval of your renting operation (in case you meet the income requirements, age, years of license, etc.).

And finally, the third step that is none other than the digital signature of the contract. Of course, the car is not delivered home. It is still necessary to go to a dealership, the one we have chosen, to pick up the car.

As a launch offer, by the way, Leasys proposes the Fiat 500 with Star finish by 230 euros per month in a renting of 36 months and 10,000 km per year (other options and mileage are available) and includes VAT, full insurance without excess, maintenance, unlimited tires, roadside assistance and fines management.

Renting, a rising market

Renting

The renting of a vehicle was something that until recently was reserved for companies and freelancers. However, now individuals can also opt for renting. According to data from the Spanish Association of Vehicle Renting (AER), 210,074 cars have been registered, until August 2019, and accumulates an increase of 7.01%.

What's more, the renting represents 20% of the new car market in Spain, according to AER data. It is an upward sector and now that individuals can also opt for renting, manufacturers multiply the facilities for us to take the step.

What is renting and what differentiates it from leasing. To simplify, leasing is a rent with option to buy proposed by the manufacturer. In that rental they can enter or not different additional services, such as insurance and maintenance. And although initially the ownership of the car is the brand or leasing company, the customer has ownership of the car.

Renting is the rental of a long-term vehicle. That is, a monthly fee is paid with a total mileage limit (which is usually indicated in the form of six kilometers per year) depending on the duration of the contract (usually 12 to 60 months).

The rental company owns a car (whether new or pre-owned), has ownership and unlike leasing, is responsible for all administrative tasks, insurance and maintenance of the car. The customer pays a monthly fee and fuel and does not have to deal with anything else.
