The cost of companies per employee rises 2.4% in the second quarter
Madrid, Sep 17 (.) .- The labor cost of companies grew 2.4% in the second quarter compared to the same period of 2018, up to 2,664.55 euros per worker and month, which is the largest increase in almost one of each.
The increase is a consequence of the rise in salary costs and social contributions, after the minimum wage and contribution bases rose by 22.3% in January 2019.
According to the quarterly labor cost survey (ETCL) published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the salary cost increased 2.1%, the highest growth since the fourth quarter of 2013, with an average gain per worker of 1,992.18 euros per month.
The other costs, which include Social Security contributions, increased 3.4%, to 672.37 euros.
