The Central Bank abandoned the auctions today and intervened with direct sales to contain the dollar, which fell to $ 58.49 in banks and agencies in Buenos Aires, within the framework of the exchange control applied by the government of Mauricio Macri.

The Central Bank carried out the first auction of Letters of Liquidity (Leliq) for a seven-day term for an amount awarded of $ 71,334 million, at an average cut-off rate that stood at 85,290%, with the minimum adjudicated rate being 82% and the maximum of 86,0001%. The average total rate on Monday, equivalent to the monetary policy rate was 85,275% and the total amount awarded was $ 246,623 million.
