A scientific conference on the prevention and fight against cancer will take place on 29 and 30 August in the Hue Central Hospital, Thua Thiên-Huê Province (Center), bringing together more than 650 Vietnamese and foreign experts in this field.

Speaking at the event, Professor and Dr. Pham Nhu Hiêp, director of Huê Central Hospital, said that cancer is a burden borne by the world. According to statistics from the Observatoire sociétal des cancers in 2018, an estimated 14.1 million new cases of cancer each year and an estimated 8.2 million deaths from cancer worldwide.
Vietnam deplores every year 165,000 new cases of cancer and 115 deaths.
The event has received 135 scientific reports from national and foreign experts.
On this occasion, participants had the opportunity to study new techniques presented by experts from the United States, France, Japan, Singapore …, in the treatment of cancer.
