The midfielder landed this Monday in Marseille to settle the final details of his arrival. The transfer is estimated at 15 million euros.
His transfer is linked to the departure of Luiz Gustavo to Fenerbahçe. The Brazilian arrived in Turkey this Sunday and should be recruited for six million euros, an amount that should be used partly to finance the arrival of Rongier.

From the beginning, Rongier wanted to join OM and asked his management not to play the last game against Montpellier (1-0 victory) for fear of injury. Trained in the Canaries, he played a total of 135 games for the FCN (ten goals and thirteen assists), where he became captain.
The 24-year-old should be Olympique de Marseille's third rookie this summer after Alvaro Gonzalez (Villarreal) and Dario Benedetto (Boca Juniors).
