President Mauricio Macri received today in Casa Rosada the leader of the QOM Aboriginal community, Felix Diaz and echoed one of the main claims: the treatment of the Community Property Law.

The initiative is delayed due to the little activity that Congress had during this 2019 as it was an election year, and Macri promised that the official blocs of both houses will proceed with their treatment when the parliament returns to session.

The Community Property Law recognizes territorial autonomy to the aboriginal peoples and communities of Argentina.

"It has been requested to work on the Law on Community Property that depends on the Senate and Deputies. There is concern because during the campaign season it is difficult to work on this proposal, but we hope they will work on it," said Diaz when he retired from the government headquarters , as reported by the NA agency.

The President, who approached Félix Díaz during the 2015 campaign at a time when the QOM chief maintained a confrontation with Kirchnerism, met with the leader to advance on the pending issues on the agenda of the native peoples.

Long ago, Diaz had criticized the president because "the promises were carried by the wind."
