Debate on cryptocurrencies among actor-rappers who play Hamilton and Satoshi
On September 5, Hoffman released a new hip-hop battle video showing Alexander Hamilton, the founder of the financial system and the central bank of the United States, fighting rap style battle for the merits of centralized currencies against the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
Hoffman said he was inspired by watching the musical "Hamilton" and that he was especially impressed with the two songs of "Cabinet Battle." Hoffman said:
"I was particularly impressed with his two" Cabinet Battle "songs, and the way he used rap to express the opposing views that informed the themes and debates underlying the fundamental moments of the United States' development. Since then, he has intrigued by the idea of using rap to explore some of the most polarizing themes that characterize our era. "
This style of debate will be familiar to many YouTube fans, especially those who have watched the Epic Rap Battles of History (ERB) channel, where two characters come and go rhyming key points in an attempt to take down the opponent.
The LinkedIn co-founder added that he hopes the video will make more people talk about crypto and its evolutionary role in global commerce. He concluded:
"Since I believe that an informed, civilized and open-minded debate leads to greater innovation and adaptation, I hope the discussions continue."
Cameos of dozens of cryptocurrency pioneers
The 6-minute hip-hop video includes dozens of cameos from industry pioneers such as Charlie Lee, creator of Litecoin (LTC); Zooko Wilcox-O'Hearn, co-founder of Zcash (ZEC); Reid Hoffman himself and many others.
Hoffman went to Twitter to ask his followers who won the debate: Alexander Hamilton or Satoshi Nakamoto? The winner was clearly Satoshi Nakamoto, with 72% of the 6050 votes cast.
Hoffman received the Lightning Torch relay
Cointelegraph reported in February that Hoffman had become the last participant in the Lightning Torch Bitcoin transaction relay and had become the 224th person to "hold" the Torch. Before him, Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey also passed the torch, as did many other high-profile figures in crypto and finance.
