Latam announces change in the direction of the airline | Economy

After 25 years of career, Enrique Cueto Plaza, will leave his position as CEO of the Latam Airlines Group. According to the airline, the change in direction will take place as of March 31, 2020 and the current Commercial Vice President, Roberto Alvo Milosawlewitsch, will arrive at the position.

According to Latam, the change will allow for a planned transition without neglecting current strategic priorities and ongoing projects.

Today we are the leader in the connectivity of the region with the world, we are within the most punctual airlines in the world and with a service distinguished by the millions of customers that prefer us, and we have considerably improved our financial position, ”said the President of the Board of Directors of Latam Airlines Group, Ignacio Cueto.

This appointment comes after a planned succession process that began last year and that included external and internal candidates. The unanimous decision of the board of directors to appoint Roberto Alvo took into account his 18 years of experience in the company, successfully occupying different positions in Finance, Fleet, Planning, and in recent years, leading the Commercial area.

“We are confident that the leadership and deep knowledge of the industry and the Roberto Alvo region will lead us to fly even higher, maintaining the preference of the more than 70 million passengers we transport per year and become one of the lines most admired aerial in the world ”Ignacio Cueto added. He also thanked the current CEO, Enrique Cueto, for his vision and leadership to make the Latin American air group a world leader.
