Improvements in efficiency, emission control and automation are the main trends that can be seen in this edition
How many exhibitors will participate in this new edition?
More than 500 exhibiting firms will be in Valladolid next September 24 with the latest in technology, design and performance. Coming from 30 countries, the manufacturers from Italy, Austria and Portugal stand out, who arrive at this edition with more news than ever, with offers and solutions aimed at an increasingly demanding and better informed customer.
Which sectors have greater representation?
As usual in recent editions, the largest representation of exhibitors, approximately half, focuses on offering stoves, fireplaces and boilers to the domestic sector. And it should be mentioned, of course, that almost the other half of the fair shows solutions for the manufacture and distribution of biofuels, both chips and pellets.
What visitor forecasts do you have for Expobiomasa 2019? Why shouldn't you miss this fair?
The forecasts are to reach 15,000 professionals. And it is that Expobiomasa is surpassed year after year, mainly because the sector continues to have an important appeal and offers unique business opportunities.
Two thirds of all renewable energy consumed in Europe is biomass, it is the energy preferred by Europeans with over five million stoves and boilers installed in the European residential sector. For our part, the number of equipment sold in Spain grew 16% last year, and pellet sales do not stop growing in a sustained and balanced way.
The professionals in Expobiomasa look for business opportunities that save their customers money in order to maintain them, or get new customers and biomass is one of the best alternatives in the air conditioning sector. Nine out of ten visitors to the fair find what they are looking for: offers, designs, efficiency, savings, etc.

What are the main market trends that we can see in the exhibition?
This edition stands out for the improvements in efficiency, emission control and automation. The high cost of electricity and compliance with European legislation that will come into force in the coming years has made innovation accelerate in order to offer greater efficiency in every way, and without a doubt, these improvements translate into opportunities for Savings not seen so far.
The pellet market is reaching a leading role. In fact, within Expobiomasa a specific day will be dedicated to talk about it. What could the assistant know about these days?
This International Conference on the domestic pellet market brings Spain to the main international agents in the sector after five years. The manufacture and consumption of pellets have multiplied in Spain in recent years, but not only in Spain, throughout Europe there is a significant increase. France and Italy are importers of our pellet, while we import from Portugal. European trends in our environment can affect supply and price. Knowing this information first hand is something that professionals who want to improve their profitability should know to be able to better plan and avoid stock breakage that some distributors had last season. This meeting will take place on September 25 in the framework of Expobiomasa.
Bioenergy can have a very important role in the industry, being able, in some cases, to reuse its own waste for the generation of energy. Does the industrialist really know all the alternatives he has with bioenerga?
It is obvious that the use of biomass for industrial thermal generation is not known in our country. But as is normal there are exceptions, the consumption of biomass for industrial heat generation is mostly in agri-food, wood and paper. These industries use energy as biofuel waste that has no other use, closing the cycle of use. Therefore, many of them are leaders in Circular Economy, since once reused and recycled, the last fraction becomes energy instead of going to a landfill.
The oil industry lupine; the marro of the coffee industry; Fruit peels, sawdust and recycled wood are biofuels that can be converted into energy in industrial facilities with high efficiency and all the guarantees, in addition to providing a significant saving in energy costs and by-product management.
We are currently beginning to see significant cases in the automotive, cosmetic and chemical industry, which are taking advantage of the price of bioenergy and replacing gas and diesel in order to control and lower their operating costs and improve their emissions. In Expobiomasa, the exhibitors show a multitude of solutions and alternatives for practically all industrial cases.
Knowing what is done in other countries helps to improve and offer new solutions. In fact, in this edition they have Finland as a guest country. What can we learn from the finlands market?
In this edition of the fair, 25 Finnish firms arrive in Valladolid that will present the latest technology and seek collaborators for their forestry projects, quality control in the use of chips for thermal use and for the development of efficient management systems in District Heating.
Do you want to add something else?
I would like to highlight the fact that efficient biomass air conditioning is another alternative in our country, a stable option, which grows more every year. We have a lot of room in Spain and in Europe to take advantage of our resources. Now we take advantage of only 40% of what grows every year in our forests, which causes an uncontrolled accumulation of biomass that causes increasingly virulent fires. Using our resources we generate economic movement and employment in our provinces and regions and reduce the amount of gas or oil that must be purchased from third countries and continue to borrow our economies. So: go to the biomass and come to dive among the professionals of the sector next September, from 24 to 26, to the Fair of Valladolid, to Expobiomasa.
