Free Now (myTaxi) can now charge you for canceling a trip: this is how your conditions change

As we received in an email, Free Now, the old myTaxi, will update its Terms and Conditions for passengers on September 14, 2019. From that day on, the users of the transport platform will see how, sometimes, they can be asked for additional identity authentication. It is one of the changes, but not the most important for the company whose taxis operate in Barcelona, ​​Malaga, Seville, Valencia, Madrid and Asturias.

Free Now has established certain circumstances in which from day 14 You can charge us when you cancel a trip when we already had an assigned driver. Until now it had no cost, but the reason for introducing it is explained in the web to which they link in the mail:

If you cancel a trip, they (the drivers) may already be on their way to you and waste time, fuel and cancel other trips.

Five euros to pay depending on the situation

Free Now mentions that will charge five euros if the following assumptions are met:

• Cancellation when the taxi driver has accepted: Free Now will charge you 5 euros if it has been two or more minutes since the driver has accepted the trip and if the driver has traveled a distance equal to or greater than 150 meters to your pick-up after accepting it. Likewise, € 5 will be charged if the driver is less than 100 meters from the collection point.

• Cancellation when the taxi driver has already arrived: If you arrive at the collection point after 5 minutes after the driver has arrived, and he cancels, 5 euros will be charged.

• If you cancel and you have to be charged, and Your only payment method is cash, Free Now will withdraw the amount from your bank card. If it cannot be done, the account can be suspended until the debts are settled.
