Deloitte opens its EMEA Cybersphere Center in Madrid

Deloitte opened its new cybersecurity center yesterday in Madrid, located in the Chamartín Tower of the Hortaleza district. With this new space, for which they have invested 18 million euros, the firm seeks respond to the sophistication and increase in cybersecurity incidents It affects companies and companies around the world and has already become one of the main concerns of organizations and their Boards of Directors.

So much so that “22% of corporate investment goes to cybersecurity” affirmed Fernando Ruiz, President of Deloitte in Spain. To respond to this need and address the challenge of cybersecurity today, Deloitte has launched this EMEA Cybersphere Center (ECC) in which most of the incidents occurred in the entire region of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The opening ceremony that was attended by the Hon. Mrs. Ms. Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, Hon. Mr. Enrique López, Minister of Justice, Interior and Terrorism Victims of the Community of Madrid, and the Hon. Mrs. Ms. Paloma Martín, Minister of the Environment, Land Management and Sustainability of the Community of Madrid, made clear the Deloitte's future bet and its goal of being leaders in innovation.

In this sense, Mr. Alfonso Mur, managing partner of Risk Advisory of Deloitte, wanted to emphasize that “with the implementation of the ECC, Deloitte advances significantly in its objective of lead cybersecurity, a practice that began in the Firm 30 years ago and that has been growing based on two pillars: innovation and talent ”. Well, as Alfonso Mur, Director of Risk Advisory for Spain pointed out, “cybersecurity is not something new for Deloitte and the practice of cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing in the Firm”.

In Spain they already have more than 20 spaces, but this is the first center of excellence for managed security services in the EMEA region and will have 574 professionals of 20 nationalities offering services every hour of the day to more than 26 countries.
