Colombian group Nutresa acquires the American company Cameron's Coffee

Grupo Nutresa, a Colombian giant in the processed food sector, acquired the American company Camerons Coffee, which is dedicated to the production and distribution of roasted and ground coffee with added value, business sources reported on Wednesday.

The Nutresa Group detailed in a statement that, "in accordance with the acquisition agreement", the value payable for "100% of the shares of CCDC OPCO Holding Corporation, a company incorporated under the laws of Delaware (United States), and 100% owner of Camerons Coffee "is 113 million dollars.

"This operation is a new step in the path of internationalization of the Nutresa Group and is aligned with our objective of improving the quality of life of consumers through conscious brands, affordable products, and innovative and differentiated value propositions," he said. the president of the Colombian company, Carlos Ignacio Gallego, cited in the information.

According to the Colombian giant of the processed food sector, Camerons Coffee had sales between July 2018 and 2019 of 72 million dollars.

"Through Camerons Coffee, Grupo Nutresa strengthens its international presence in a category of high growth and dynamism at a global level that offers multiple opportunities for effective innovation and generation of sustainable value over time," Gallego added.

The acquired company, based in Shakopee (Minnesota, USA), has more than 40 years of experience and has a "relevant presence" in the midwestern US market.

In that sense, the Nutresa Group is looking for the transaction to provide new growth opportunities by connecting "the commercial network, production capacities and the Camerons brand with the scale, support and platform" of the company in the US, He added the information.

During the transaction, the firms Tully & Holland, Nixon Peabody and EY advised the group, which financed the operation with its own resources and bank loans.

Nutresa is a conglomerate of the food industry present in more than 70 countries on five continents, with a portfolio of more than 160 brands of cold meats, cookies, chocolates, coffee, ice cream, pasta and fast food, among others.
