The Provincial Court of Barcelona has recognized Schweppes Suntory as the only company with the right to distribute the tonic of the Schweppes brand in Spain, and has withdrawn the right to the Red Parallel company, which distributed the same brand in the country manufactured in the United Kingdom by Coca-Cola.
The court's order, to which Efe has had access, has annulled the judgment of Commercial Court number 8 of Barcelona, which at the time dismissed the lawsuit filed by Schweppes Suntory against Red Paralela and its subsidiary in Barcelona.
In the ruling, the Provincial Court of Barcelona has condemned Red Parallel to cease all distribution in Spain of products identified with the Schweppes brand and a pay compensation for damages of 293,480 euros.
The company has held the decision of the court, although the order can be appealed to the Supreme Court
