The perpetrator, a 40-year-old single man from the village, used a stab to kill and injure students at the start of the school year in Chaoyangpo Village, Hubei Province, said town hall of the city of Enshi, on which depends the village.

A man with a knife stabbed eight schoolchildren deadly and wounded two others at the start of school in a village in central China, local authorities said on Tuesday.
The suspect was arrested by the police and placed in police custody, according to the same source.
Stabbing attacks against schoolchildren are not uncommon in China. Schoolchildren had already been fatally stabbed in April last year in North China's Shaanxi Province, and in January 2017 in a kindergarten.
