French sports car manufacturer Bugatti announced last week the modified version for serial production of its Chiron model, whose prototype reaches 490 kilometers per hour, setting a new world speed record for mass-produced cars, reports the Automotive Press portal.

According to the company, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which will be produced in a limited edition of only 30 units, will be as similar as possible to the prototype, in what has been characterized as an "almost serial modification", necessary to introduce some changes so that the car can be used in common roads. The price of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ will be 3.5 million euros (about 3.8 million dollars).

The car will retain most of its unique features, such as lightweight magnesium alloy wheels and outer carbon fiber panels, as well as a line specially designed aerodynamics for maximum speed and, of course, a W16 engine with four turbochargers, which gives you up to 1,500 – 1,600 horsepower.

However, in standard mode the maximum speed of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ will be reduced to around 440 kilometers per hour, but if any owner wanted to repeat the race at 490 kilometers per hour of pilot Andy Wallace, Bugatti is ready to install a safety cage in the car and remove speed limit. In addition, it will provide the client with access to the same road where the record was set, with a straight line of 8.8 kilometers.
