The Economy Commission of the Congress has begun to work and order the appearances that were pending for months despite the uncertainty of possible general elections, and the first to go to this body will be the president of the CNMV.
Albella plans to report on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. on the development of its activities in 2018 and on the situation of the financial markets, once this week the BOE has published the closing of accounts of the agency last year, when the supervisor obtained a benefit net of 21 million euros, 1.1% more than a year earlier.
According to the BOE, the CNMV intends that this surplus, as in previous years, be entered into the Public Treasury.
At the end of 2018, the CNMV obtained a total income of 65.3 million euros, 2.3% higher than in 2017, while expenses amounted to 44.3 million, 2.8% higher.
The appearance of Albella will be the first of a series of senior positions of public bodies that by law have to go through Congress to account.
As explained to EFE the president of the Economy Commission, María Muñoz, the acting minister of Economy could also attend the first week of October, since socialist sources have indicated to the commission that she intends to appear at her own request.
The president of the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC), José María Marín Quemada, must also pass through the Economy Commission.
Precisely, the positions at the head of the agency of Marín Quemada, the vice president, María Fernández, and three other directors expire in September.
