French operators, such as air France or a group headed by the former head of Hop, Lionel Guérin, but also foreigners like Easyjet and the spanish Vueling have been interested in the company Aigle Azur, in bankruptcy proceedings, and can present their offers this Monday to the judicial administrators.

The French Secretary of State for Transportation, Jean-Baptiste DjebbariHe told the channel "BFMTV" that Guérin's proposal to keep all the activity of Aigle Azur and backed by his pilots, "is a track we like."

The French authorities welcome the offer of the group headed by Lionel Guérim, former head of Hop

In another interview with "Le Parisien", Djebbari noted that the former president of Hop (subsidiary of short-haul flights of Air France) "is accompanied by a recognized team in the world of aviation" and has "credible financial support ".

The strongest offer

But he added that he will support "the offer that is more solid", after noting that there are also other groups such as Air France, Air Caraïbes or Easyjet who have studied the possibility of formalizing an offer, for what they have until Monday at 10.00 GMT.

In recent days there has also been talk that one of the main candidates for a partial offer is the Spanish airline Vueling, interested as the others for the nearly 10,000 takeoff and landing rights (slots) that Aigle Azur has in the Parisian Orly Airport.

Several companies offer those affected tickets at cost prices and Air France has also chartered supplementary aircraft in the connections between France, Algeria and Mali

In fact, Vueling had reached an agreement with the management of Aigle Azur in August to keep his business from lines with Portugal. However, it was canceled with the bankruptcy.

19,000 affected passengers

Aigle Azur, who has a template of 1,150 employees in France and Algeria and operated eleven rental planes, suspended all its flights between Thursday and Friday last week after declaring a suspension of payments on September 2.

According to Djebbari, of the 19,000 passengers who had bought tickets to fly with what was the second French company, there are about 13,000 pending to go to their destinations, and of them 11,000 on lines between France and Algeria.

The secretary of state calculated that in three weeks you can find solutions for all of them. Several companies offer them tickets at cost prices and Air France has also chartered supplementary aircraft in the connections between France, Algeria and Mali.

To meet all these costs, the French Government is trying to repatriate the equivalent of 15 million euros that Aigle Azur had in Algeria.
